freeOK概要:Matthias's dream is to become a photography student at the Berlin Academy of Arts. On the journey of following his call, Matthias fell in love with the beautiful and free soul of Hannah, and his dreams were constantly tested. In order to win her heart, Mattias felt it necessary to prove to Hanna that he could possess the same adventurous spirit and unpredictability as Hanna. Mattias and Hanna broke the law together, risking everything, but he didn't know that Hanna's bold behavior was just a symptom of bipolar disorder. At the moment of Jerosh, Matthias unintentionally committed a crime that could result in him being imprisoned for several years. The only way he could see was to declare himself irresponsible. In order to achieve this, Matthias decided to start pretending that her friend truly had bipolar disorder. Development: The script for "Polar Boys" was developed by Anu Aun under the supervision of script editor Franz Rodenkirchen during the advanced screenwriting course "2008 Screenplay and Speech" and NIPKOW residency project in 2009/2010. Funding: The development of "Polar Boys" has received support from the Estonian Film Foundation, Estonian Cultural Foundation, MEDIA desk Estonia, MEDIA Single Project development funding, and Torino Film Lab; Script; "Spacing"; Script development allowance and NIPKOW allowance. Director's intention: "Polar Boy" tells the story of a talented young man who is forced to make a choice between love and passion for a complex girl and the call of photography art. For me, bipolar disorder is like the third character in the love story between Matthias and Hannah. It brings them together, tears them apart, and evolves from the tormentor to his savior. For Hannah, polarity is a curse. She can choose whether to live the most fulfilling life but constantly harm herself and the people around her, or to take the medication that should help her perform normally but make her lose emotions and numb. For Matthias, polarity is the secret that attracts him to Hannah's side, an obstacle that takes him away, and a tool for him to evade behavioral responsibility and avoid imprisonment. On a larger scale, this movie tells the story of bipolar as a disease in modern society, where people seem to constantly feel the need to pretend to be someone else - a better person based on some distorted values - and the fear and danger of not being able to meet their expectations. This is also a story about discovering, understanding, and accepting oneself, as well as finding the courage to be loyal to oneself.
